Creative Weaving:
Newpark School Arts Week

In April of 2021, after my school placement was finished, I was invited back for paid work at Newpark School as part of their 4th year Arts week. I conducted creative weaving workshops for all of the students in 4th year.

On my own initiative, I asked Dun Laoghaire Lexicon if we could exhibit the students work outdoors at the library.

The library agreed to the idea and they formally launched the art installation along with the work of 2 other Newpark teachers. The work will also be celebrated as part of Cruinniú na nÓg 2021.

This was a very exciting opportunity for the students to have their work viewed by a public audience. More about the exhibition can be found here.
